(AN INTRODUCTION TO THE ASIAN MARKET)
The Asian market is an interesting one and vastly developing; while most western countries have experienced a downward economic trend in the last years, Asian economies have grown at a fast pace, unleashing true potential as emerging markets. From merely cheap production places, Asian countries have become an interesting and growing consumer market. Although Asia is a large and diverse market, it brings with itself unique challenges to doing business. Therefore, this course is useful for anyone who considers working or doing business in Asia.
This course gives an introduction to the Asian market and business situation, with a focus on Indonesia and South East Asia. You will not only learn basic theories, but will also immediately put these into practice; you and your fellow participants will work on a real-life marketing assignment over the period of two weeks. The course has a close relation to the industry. You will attend presentations and workshops from industry experts, will visit companies and you will present your final plan to a panel of academic staff and industry experts.
During this course you will learn how to successfully launch a product or service in the Asian market. Upon completion of this course you will be able to design a marketing plan targeted towards Asian countries. You will also learn how to convincingly present your (marketing) plans.
